"TOO MUCH/NOT ENOUGH" 300 PC Large Format Linen Puzzle
This piece is part of my collection of paintings title "The Breaking". In this collection, I've explored the themes of heartbreak and disappointment as it relates to the female experience of betrayal. I have layered vibrant abstract backgrounds with bold figures and portraits to reflect the chaos and paradox of emotions and thoughts that swirl through our beings as we experience such a life changing event. The raw marks and unfinished style of the drawings mirror the raw states of our hearts when we experience hard things. Things change us. We have such little control over what happens to us, but we have all the power in the world to determine how those events shape us.

This piece is an expression of the journey of so many women. The feeling of being simultaneously too much -- too emotional, too independent, too wild, too chaotic, too up-and-down... and not enough -- not poised enough, not a good enough mother, not making enough, not forgiving enough.
This piece acts as an invitation to accept where we are in the current moment. To breathe deeply, regardless of whether we feel we are "too much" or "not enough" in any given moment. We have access to peace in the midst of our insecurities-- peace is our birthright. We can rest knowing we are right where we need to be, as we need to be, with just the right amount of "us" to offer the world.
